Seven Years of Purpose, Partnership, and Impact
This year, Second Story Marketing Group celebrates seven years of serving the skilled trades industry with one clear mission: to tell the stories that matter.
When Second Story Marketing Group was founded, it was built on more than marketing expertise. It was built on a belief that the skilled trades deserve better visibility, stronger branding, and more authentic storytelling. What started as a mission to change the narrative has grown into a company that helps trade organizations, apprenticeship programs, and industry leaders connect with the people they need most: future apprentices, workers, families, and communities.
Over the past seven years, our impact has never been about simply producing marketing materials. It has been about helping organizations communicate who they are, what they stand for, and why their work matters. We have partnered with clients to build brands, create websites, produce photography and video, strengthen recruitment efforts, and develop messaging rooted in truth and trust. That work reflects the values that continue to guide us today: honesty, integrity, communication, collaboration, and grace.
We have seen firsthand what happens when authentic storytelling is done well. Stronger branding creates confidence. Better visuals create connection. Clearer messaging helps the right people see themselves in the opportunity. In one example from our journey, a client experienced a 50 percent increase in apprenticeship applications after launching a new website built around authentic imagery and a stronger story. That kind of result reminds us that marketing is not just about looking good. It is about helping people feel seen, informed, and inspired to take action.
As we reflect on the last seven years, we are incredibly grateful for the trust our clients have placed in us. Many of them are building the workforce that keeps our communities running. They are training the next generation, filling critical jobs, and carrying forward the pride and purpose of the trades. It is an honor to help tell those stories.
The work is not finished. In many ways, it feels like we are just getting started. There is still more awareness to build, more stories to uncover, and more organizations to support. But seven years in, one thing is certain: visual storytelling still connects, and the right story still has the power to change perception, build trust, and move people forward.
Thank you to every client, collaborator, and supporter who has been part of this journey. Your story has shaped ours.
